July is a fantastic time to enjoy the Sea of Cortez with warm waters averaging 84°F (29°C); even lightweight wetsuits are optional for snorkelers. It's also the perfect opportunity to watch giant manta rays breach high into the air — sometimes up to 6 feet (1.8 meters)! Sea lion pups, just born in June, love frolicking in the water and circle curiously around snorkelers while their mothers watch carefully nearby. Dolphins by the dozens swim and jump alongside boats and speak excitedly in their secret language, much to the delight of divers and snorkelers.
